Question about Light scratches?

Ok so I went to the drivers seat which is my local car stuff store and I asked them what is the best to get swirl marks and light scratches out of my paint. I have a black 05 fx4 screw. So I bought this is the order I will be appyling them mags-swirl remover, pinnacle paint polish, mags sealent,dp wax. I am going to be appyling this by hand is it worth doing with out a buffer? i have heard conflicting stories. any input would be great

you could get an orbital buffer and it would make it a little easier on your shoulder but you will find yourself wanting to upgrade to a DA polisher anyways so you might as well skip the orbital

DA's are great. You'll want to get some hands on experience from somebody who's used one before.

If you don't have that readily available, try practicing on an older car, or a section of your truck that's not really visible.

A big thing that comes into play is knowing which pads to use with what product. There's a lot of topics on here discussing that, and there's a lot of knowledgeable people on here that are more than willing to share information.

Just lurking.

Ok, I cannot take it. To the OP, please take a half hour or so and read through the sticky at the top of the C&D section.

I suspect that the reason you have new swirls is due to many factors but b.c we wern't with you while you did it, we can only specualate on a few things.

Using a DA like a G100 or a PC7424 with the proper prep work, right pad and product combination you WILL get great results....at the same time you can do just as much damange with the wong product, pad combo....Net is, there are many, many factors in play here.

Can you get some close ups in the direct sun or under a shop light of your finish so we can get a good visual assessment of what you are working with?
