Great Detailers In the Dallas Area

As soon as April hits and the weather start to warm up in Texas, I want to have a full detail done. I want a professional to do it, because the paint has become quite marred over the last 3 and a half years.

I am having Service King repaint my front fender and hood because there clearcoat has begun to burn off. Worst body shop in the entire world.

Also, there are a few dents in the truck. Small, dime size dents in a couple panels from idiots in the parking lot. Know any reasonably priced places that can do a good job?

Well back to my question. Does anyone know any great detailers in the Dallas area? All recommendations will be appreciated!

I don't know any detailers in your part of the city but the net is, it doesn't matter right now until you get your paint work done. Then 90 days after that, it could be detailed.

One thing you could do is call Wash Solutions in Dallas (near Parker College) and ask them who they would recommend in your area.

Got any photos for us to look at?

I will get some and post them tomorrow. I am sure it is not that bad, but because it is my truck it looks a hundred times worse. I will snap a picture of the worst area.

My buddy has a PC all I need are the pads and supplies. I may tackle it myself on an overcast day. Once you look at the picture, you may be able to advise what i would need to tackle it myself. I have hit it with the the PC before.

Here is what I had compiled earlier. Maybe you have some other suggestions once you see picture. Also in the picture, you will not be able to notice. But a panel on the bed has some oxidation, came about when the truck was about a year old. What will bring this back to a deeper gloss?

Hand Wash
Clay
Meguiars #83 with Meguiars SOFTBUFF Cutting Pad
Meguiars #7 with Meguiars Polishing Pad
2 Coats NXT 2.0 with Meguiars Finishing Pad
Wait 12 Hours and hit with Meguiars Carnauba Wax

Take some photos in direct sunlight or under direct neon or shop lights.

That is the best way to determine (sight unseen) a path to take. Not sure I would go the 83 route but if that is all you have, we'll make it work.

Cheers

As RR mentioned, #83 is a tad difficult to work with utilizing the PC. Simply put, it's been my experience over and over again that, while you can use it, it's difficult to break the product down and you'll almost always have to follow with another lighter cut product to remove what you induced utilizing #83.

That said, you may *have* to use something like #83 to cut the oxidation... we'll wait on the pics.

Either way, no cutting pad. The cutting pad is a rotary-only product as it's a much more dense foam and really can't be properly utilized with the RPMs generated by the PC.

We'll wait on a picture or three...

Several of the Tropi-care guys are located in Dallas, including the owner.

you could drop Steve an email from his website, http://ww.tropi-care.com and see if he can recommend anyone close to you.

Do you think your dents need paint, or are they a candidate for paintless dent removal?

I would like to also point out that Steve is probably the easiest person in the world to get in touch with...he responds to every email and call.

The dents are all able to be fixed with PDR.

I will post pics as soon as I can get it under some direct sunlight!
