Anything wrong with this process?

I used to do a bit more 'detailing' of my ride when I was younger. All by hand. This is what I would do using all Meg products.

Wash
Clay
Deep Crystal Paint cleaner
Deep Crystal Polish-depending on if I felt like it or it needed it
#7 Glaze
Then #26 wax. Sometimes two coats.

My old RX-7 Really shined but the only problem was, it didn't last long. A month before the wax seemed gone.

I would like to do something similar to my 07 white Expy. Any advice on the products I use? Something better?

Looks like a good process. However, I'm not sure that you need #7 after the DC polish. I would use one or the other.

I'm sure some others will chime in with their words of wisdom.

You also may want to consider a DA. I purchased one recently and it is well worth it. I used to do everything by hand as well, but the results are so much better with a machine. You just need the right pad/product combos.

I have heard that Collinite 845 Insulator wax is great on durability...also i would suggest putting a some type of a sealant on before you do the 26...something like NXT if you are shopping locally..i have heard great things about NXT 2.0...you might try to pick that up at your local walmart

I agree with stud. After the polish use a coat of sealant (NXT or maybe Meg's #21) and then a coat of #26. The sealant is much more durable.

On a 07 you could probably go straight from the clay to the polish - then follow with 2 coats of NXT 2.0, applied 12 hours apart.

Some Wally Worlds have a $25 kit that has NXT 2.0 and UQD plus some other stuff, it's a steal for the price. I wouldn't waste the UQD on the clay job but for a quick wipedown on NXT it's great stuff.

Ok, I guess I don't know my products. I was under the impression the #7 glaze would sort of fill in the light scratches and 'shine up' the surface better than polish alone.

#7 is a pure polish instead of a sealant. the meg's line sealant stuff would be like #21, #20, or NXT 1.0 or 2.0.

Personally I would forgo the DC polish and just use #7. Then in your case probably some NXT. 2.0 if you can find it. wait at least 12 hours then top with #26. Not the "greatest" on durability but it's really not bad at all from my personal experience.

Ok, gotcha. I will skip the DC and give that a try. I do have the NXT liquid, would the paste be better?

Some people prefer one over the other. I've never been a big user of pastes myself. According to Meg's they are supposed to be identical.

Buzz,

You can search on White vehicles in this forum and you will get a lot of threads with products that were used. White is a little more difficult to get the POP, but some of the pics I have seen are really outstanding. I personnally used the following on my White Oxford truck.

Megs #80
ClearKote Vanilla Moose
Poorboys EX-P
Collinite 845

I love the shine and durability! Good luck!

Pretty solid process...

I concur with the others in dropping the DC Polish. #7, while it *will not* fill or conceal any problems on your paint (and thus, don't go to that step until you're satisfied with the paint condition) is a great product. Remember, THIN is the key.

Most folks like #26 but, the durability will lack a tad. That said, the NXT and then the #26 may not be a bad combo.
