First Steps to an Obsession?

Went out and Spent about $70 on this Stuff. I got a Few washing Brushes and some MF towels (yes, cheap ones ) The Clay kit Comes with QD and a Cleaner Wax and some GOOD MF towels.

I Wanted to pick up some NXT 2.0, but they didnt have any, unless thats the same as the Tech Wax, then I passed it up.

By the looks of it, you have a problem with candles too.

And While you're here, Do you know if this 3 step system will do anything for swirls, or should I pick up some Scratch X?

I think I see one more off the distance....could be a glass block with a candle behind it. Don't worry, no one reads these things anyway...you're safe.

Your question: Depends on how bad the swirls are....and you may need them to get the swirls out from using that wash mitt you got. That thing is going to micro mar your paint. (if its the same one I am thinking of)

It should help swirls "slightly". step 1 and 2 should have fillers to help.
Good set of starter stuffies.

He's supposed to buy "wax" isn't he!? Might be a little tough to remove the residue though.

Welcome to the fun of getting swirls out... Of red paint.
By hand, Its hard as hell.
That 3 step may do a little, but not much.. #80 i've heard works good by hand, scratchX is just a pain to apply over the whole truck... And #9 just dosnt have the bite (that i need) it seems. But untill i run out.. Ill be slowly working scratchX and #9 in my truck..

My birthdays friday and ill hopefully pick up a bottle of the NXT 2.0 to throw on there next weekened after a nice detail.

And by the way, your screw is awesome. I love that rim/tire combo on the red. My next truck is going to be lifted for sure, i'm riding on rims now.. And NO my 20's stay OUT of the mud. haha

B

((PS Rock, is this a good wash mit? its what i picked up last week http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01...0QX52CM1lg.jpg)

That mitt in the pic looks *A LOT* like my favorite mitt on the market (that I've tried to date -- including the Schmitt). Is it a SW Arnold brand?

I've seen them on the shelf at Wally-World... my gutt 'feel' to the mitt was that I wouldn't use it. It may be perfectly fine but, I always get finicky when it comes to mitts and to MF towels... that mitt didn't feel 'right' to me.

I tend to stick to a 100% combed cotton or 100% lambs wool mitt. Search SW Arnold here and you'll see the one that I use the mostestestest.

Then you should be good to go...

This is one of those preference things and you'll quickly find out if you like them or not. I like the Channel ones...but that's just me.

Ahhhhhhh........... you found the secret to detailing success... Mountain Dew!

Just kidding... you are off to a good start. You're also concerned about the detailing tools that you are acquiring... that's a good thing!

You know you're obsessed when you still have 2 more loads in the wash to put in the garage.

These are full, 12X18X7, I have 3 more of them in the garage wating for the clean ones.
