Well I'm OCD

Just got done detailing my wheels and tires in 30 degree weather....burrr.

I think I need to put my factory wheels back on so I don't have to do this all winter:lol:

People think I'm kidding when I tell them not to step on the nerf bar/running board. Then when once inside the cab they're like "Oh, you weren't kidding".....

What's the point in having them then???

People think I am kidding when I keep a full bottle of #34 in my truck, two collapsible buckets and 2 gallons of water and some ONR, bag full of MF's and window cleaner...as well as KR leather condition and a bottle of Hyperdressing.

Now that's funny

Of course, it's only funny because after a fresh wash I'll just hop up into the cab to avoid stepping on my step bars too!

glad to know i'm not the only one.

wow. thats a little overkill. I understand keeping things clean, but come on it is a truck.

acm8705 Dec 12, 2007 10:47 PM

After I wash and wax my truck I won't touch any of the paint, at least for as long as possible. I'll even ask the passengers to only touch the door handle and not the door when closing the door. They look at me crossed eyed, but I take pride in my truck, especially after spending a few hours detailing it.

I'm guilty of this as well, I only let people touch the handles after a wash and wax. I even take wet, muddy shoes and leave them in the bed, or in a bag in the cab to avoid spoiling the integrity of a fresh interior detail. I agree it's a pride thing, I spend upwards of 9 to 10 hours on a good detail and hate to have it ruined in 5 minutes:rocker:

My OCD invlolves requesting every saturday off from work to get my 10+ hours of washing, waxing and detailing done.

Just a few weeks ago I took off my leaft rear taillight to hardwire my reverse lights for my F&I and there was soo much dirt back there and everything it isn't even funny. So today I'm gonig home and removing both taillamps, spare tire, and everything else and cleaning it and stuff!

This thread is making me feel better.....I thought I was a little mental but I see there are plenty of us out there :o

I do the same thing with the door handles after a wash

If I could, I'd take all the doors off just to get between in those little nooks and crannies. The engine compartment is driving me nuts. So far I use Meguiars Back to Black and TurtleWax's Chrome polish to do my black plastics and K&N chrome -77. Still trying to figure out how to do the underside of the hood w/o taking the dang thing off

For under my hood, after I clean, (its never really clean b/c there is no clear sprayed there) a good product to use is simply Hyperdress...I already hear a few snickers and giggles but it actually works pretty good for under the hood.

I too wish i could take the doors off, getting in the QTR panels would please me...so again, I just spray Hyperdressing in there.
