How to make a toolbox look good again
It's going to take some serious elbow grease and some time but, Zaair's recommendation on NXT Metal Polysh is a good one. It's fairly cheap, very simple to use, and very effective (in fact, it's becoming one of my favorite metal polishes).
This might be a good spot for a 'powerball' - as much as I don't like them. Just make sure that you wash the box well PRIOR to polishing.
Once polished, you'll have to continually keep up with it as it will go back to that look. Oxidation is a b*tch.
G'luck.

Lowes sell a polish and wax combo for tool boxes. As far as keeping it bright? Well it really expensive but is,nt it Zoops that the custom rod guys use to keep the aluminum from oxidizing?

What about a powder coated black box? mines looking kinda shabby.
had a diamondplate box on my last truck. I just used a good metal polysh. Not really sure what the brand was but with a lot of elbow grease it stayed pretty nice. Would eat up towels though scrubbing on it. tear from the metal not the chemical.
