Few questions

Hello

I want to say thanks for all the info I have got from you guys. I don't post here much but read it all the time lots of great info.

I bought a new (used) truck last winter and almost died when I washed it and noticed all the little rust spots in the oxford white paint. Few minutes research here and the rail dust was remedied via clay bar and wax. Thanks for that.

My questions now that I am getting ready for one more clay to remove very few imperfections and get some good wax on the truck before it gets very cold here in Maine without a heated garage.

I have tomorrow off from work and am planning on washing the truck with the deep crystal I have and then mothers clay bar with quick detailer. I have a store nearby that stocks Mothers but seems to lack on Megs that’s why I went that route no other real reason.

Now for wax I have used before Mothers Carnauba Cleaner wax and have a good supply of that.
Today I grabbed a Mothers FX Synwax.
I read that the synthetic wax may hold up better against the elements for longer term.

I would like to use the carnauba cleaner wax and the synwax if that makes sense?

If that is ok my question is what to apply first, how many coats, what to apply second and how many coats, etc.. and how long to wait in between.

Thanks for the help guys and for all the great reading I have done.

These forums rock!

Thank you

Toughie. I realize that you want to remove imperfections then have the benefit of the syn, but traditionally, you cant apply a syn over a carnauba-- doesnt stick so well...

So, I will let others chime in. Obviously we have a lot of products that we could tell you to go buy, but this may not be for you yet.

Personally, I would skip the cleaner wax for now and do the Synwax in 2 coats, at least 12 hours apart (dont forget to QD before the 2nd coat!). Then, when it warms up, go for playing with the other goodies. Hopefully by that time we will have you warmed up to getting all sorts of sweet goodies...
