Few things...

Couple things... Went to a bonfire tonight, and whoever said "oh, the trail you go down is nice and wide" must have been driving a friggin bicycle. Few surface scratches, but nothing too major from my midnight inspection. Truck is nice and muddy right now, so we'll see just how deep the damage is when I wash it soon. :o

Anyways, I'm using this as an excuse to finally buy my own DA. I've given myself around a $200 limit for now... I'm thinking the G100 with the W7006, W8006, W9006 2 each pack. Suggestions? Also, found this and thought it was awesome:

Bro, check ebay for porter cable 7424....there are many under 100.00 but then you need to get a backing plate and pads.

Niiiicee... Now here's the deal. I'm also worred about only having a 6" backing plate with my huge *** truck. Will going from a 6" plate to an 8" plate do me any good?

6" is plenty b/c good pads are 7.5 anyway, like the Lake CV pads.

If you go bigger you run the risk of burning up the motor...you have to make sure that the PC 7425 has the 6" counter weight and if it doesn't, let me know and I will send you a spare I keep handy. Picked it up on Ebay for 4 bucks.

Most 7424's come with them anyway so you should be good to go.

anything over a 7.5 pad is not recommended by PC.

Off to bed for another round of all day meetings starting at 6:30 am

Cheers

6" counter weight?? All of the PC's listed on eGay include some type of polishing pad, so I'm guessing that they include the backing plate...

ONR? And I'm thinking Scratch-X will take care of all of this stuff... Or at least what I can see so far...

Sorry guys, just now getting back to posting.

Try scratchX first. How deep is it? Looks like its not through the cleer but hard to see.

I did the same thing...pissed.

ONR is Optimum No Rinse...it was a reference to antoerh thread where some one said that they would never use ONR b/c it would scratch their paint...while that is true you have to be smart when to use it and I was making a smart **** comment to use it on your dirty truck.

I was wondering the same thing but I see that RR has replied.

Z, I would also give Scratch X a shot and I agree that they do not look to deep. Good luck

Yeah for scraches, you would first want to use a QD with CB, #34 is a good start, then ONR using MF. Apply SX with MF, then QD again, then hit with #80 or SSR3 maybe even SSR2.5 using your DA (G100 or 7724) followed by EX-P or #7, topped with S100 or #26 or Nattys, one last QD, Drink Beer.

There are some that get that, others see Greek but soon enough it will make sense.

Was just kidding of course.

(Continuing the Greek): Yeah, I like #26 as an LSP-- really makes it pop. But you neglected to mention using UGE to add a touch more... And, Dont forget to HD the U/C. Also-- Dont neglect using SG on the rims. stray away from the BW, though, because its a bit harsh. Other than that, I think you have it covered, JP. Oh yeah-- when you dry, make sure your MF WWs are of high quality. We dont want Micromarring or swirling or straight line scratches...

Yes-- this is all going along with RR's Greek sentiment.

Give www.autodetailingsolutions.com a look, I use them for all of my detailing supplies.

I'm just curious but is that front bumper stock? It looks awesome!
