When I use the waterblade I keep a MF rag in my other hand and wipe the blade clean after every pass I make. So my method with the blade vs a rag, the waterblade has less potential for causing damage to a big area of the car. Unless you use a clean MF towel for each wipe then you have the ability to pick up a particle and rub it over the entire car before you realize it.
and though RR is right about compressed air, I will admit that I tried it once...Too much hassle. I dont not do it for reasonsing other than the hassle involved...
and in agreeance (is that a word?) with RR, your MFs should always be properly cleaned.

The duster and the blade will never be in my arsenal of products. I am just too **** about how I dry vehicles. I never use air compressors or blowers. I think using a blower does the same thing as driving down the highway to dry. Using compressed air will introduce rust to the paint. Ever drain your compressor on a humid day? You will see water and rust. Again, no thanks.
Anytime you increase the air flow that is not filtered you are introducing micro partials including oil in the air.
Sorry to bag on this thread and I don't mean to dog pile or disagree but there are many ways to skin a cat...I just don't like short cuts.
Now where did I put that soap box..............

I agree with you on the leaf blower and the duster. I use compressed air, mostly to blow out the interior vents and occasionally in a few crevices on the exterior, I do how ever have 3 inline filters on our compressor at my shop as we use the compressor to spray alphatic urethanes and produce furniture finishes on wood.

Either way everyone has their own way of doing things and old habits die hard so as long as our way works for us thats all that counts.

I agree here again, however F150's argument against the blade was that it could drag particles that DID NOT get washed off across the paint. My point is that if it is on the paint in order for the blade to pick it up then it would also be on the paint for the cleanest MF towel as well.
