Vomit on paint...

Here's a new one... It's got nothing to do with my F150 or an F150. It's actually regarding a 6 month old Ford 500 (Taurus)...

A friend of mine went to a party last night and he decided to be a designated driver and such. Well, bad idea... he was taking some friends home that were drunk, and one of them vomited out the window on to his black 500 while he was going down the highway. He was sitting in the passenger side in the front, and the vomit went from the bottom of that window, across the entire side of his new 500. Needless to say it looked like it etched the paint a little bit.

What would get this out?!

If he was smart he would have washed it off immediately. But, it sounds like he didn't, and I'm guessing stomach acid isn't too friendly with paint... Anywho, I think he'll need a wash/clay/cleaner wax to get most of the stuff off...

Sounds like one heck of a party

Your friend should consider himself lucky the puke didn't wind up in the "sweet spot", down the window channel and inside the door. Trust me that SUCKS!

It probalby isn't much worse than bird crap, just wash if off and buff it out

Vomit contains hydrochloric (stomach) acid. That's sure to etch paint if left on long enough. If it really etched into it... check this out.

He washed it off as soon as he got home... but it was sitting on there for like 45 minutes and it got dried up from driving.

I'm going to help him out on it.. I got a DA buffer/polisher and cleaner wax along with some claybars. So I'm hoping it will come out ok for him. It's almost like he got booted in the butt for being a nice, responsible person. Which for your information, I did not throw up on his car, infact, I didn't even go to the party. He showed it to me today while we were at college. I tried taking a picture with my camera phone, but it was too hard to make out. But when you stand in front of the car it looks weird.

I'm sure it was.

He vomited down toward the road. But what happened was from the air turbulance it didn't go anywhere but the entire side of the car. So it didn't go in the window channel. But I do know of someone who threw up in the vent cowl of someone's car... everytime he turns the A/C or the heat on, it smells gross.

Wow... you really have to have good aim to splatter it INTO a cowl. I'm sure that smells nice when it gets heated up.

Anyways, yeah I'd try buffing it out first... If you're still left with etch marks, you might want to consider high grit wet sanding and then buffing that out. Good luck to your friend.

Too much =

Yeah...on that note, I was at a party last weekend, and had a DD drive my truck back too the college in Charlotte that most of the kids were at (Queens U in CHarlotte.) First of all, I am never letting anyone else drive my truck, because he couldn't park for a dang thing, and ended up getting me a ticket for 100 bucks for double parking (he had too park in a sub-compact spot ). Anyway back too the puke...I sat in the bed, because I knew it was going too be rough, and well the next day I used a MF cloth (that I had too wash like 8 times lol) and some soap& water, Dawn works the best. I then re-polished it, the little pieces that etched in whent away pretty quickly!

I am surprised 45 mins and it has made a difference on the paint. All the times I've puked out windows and my buddies have puked out windows it just makes a hell of a mess up the side and it has washed right off the afternoon after that night. Good times, probably will be another one of those nights tomorrow seeings how the university is having $2.00 drinks and no cover charge

Well it's Ford's new paint we are talking about here... the same stuff that I can pressure wash off my truck.

If it can't withstand a pressure washer, then it ain't done right.

Update: I cleaned it up the other day with my DA polisher with some Meguiers cleaner wax, then I got some Meguiers gold class and polished it again.

Damn did the black come through!! He gave me $50 for doing it.

Meguiers is the coolest stuff!
