A secretary... lmao. My first employee with The Final Detail? HA!

At this point in time, I guess I need to slowly rebuild the business that I lost by taking about 6 months off for baby 'stuff'. Now that she's here, I'm trying to ramp back in but, the house hunt coupled with being a dad and trying to keep up with the stuff that really means a lot to me (like my yard) is prooving to be nearly too much.... oh yeah, never mind that I'm a geologist by trade and our office is INCREDIBLY busy right now (summer is our busy season).

Let's put it this way...

My truck has been washed thrice since June. Yes. Three times. And, to put the icing on that cake, the third time was LAST NIGHT starting at 9pm in the dark by houselight...

My finish is swirled, scratched, and looks like poo. On a scale of 1-10, it's a 5 by my scale.

Oh yeah... and I rolled over the 36k mark two days ago so, I'm out of warranty now. *sighs*

car looks great .. nice job ..

when removing paint like that, I have always found agressive clay works really well on the hard edges and corners where there is some concern about burn through if you work it too hard.

Yea the pad was off in that pic but I've been told that the backing plate can warp by doing that.

I do two things...

Lay down a loaded MF towel and place the DA on that when not in use, (upside down) and when not using the DA I take the pad off an lay down.

Either upside down or how I leave it...

Gipraw....what do you do?

Too bad you guys live on the other side of the country... could sure use someone to bring the life back to the faded paint on my 84'. I hear some rubbing compound and some elbow grease should work, but somebody with experience would work a whole lot easier lol.

Klasse All In One works great on faded paint.

do as I say .. not as I do ..

I will set it down on the bench that I use while I am working .. if there is no pad on it, I am not always as careful ..

I actually didn't notice there was no pad in that picture .. lying on its side for short amounts of time won't hurt the backing plate ..
