If you are going to use it for detailing, should you get this kit, which comes with a 6" hook and loop backing plate. Or does the PC already come with a 5" one?

In fact, i bought two of them...I knew my brother would always be borrowing mine.

 

I would say the best deal is the G100 from ADS. (Auto Detailing Solutions) It's 50 more dollars but it comes with a Megs backing plate and a Megs polishing pad. About makes up for the extra money. The other thing is the lifetime warranty.

Agreed 100%. I have bought from Coastal and had a great experience but, in hindsight, the G100 deal from www.autodetailingsolutions.com is easily the best deal going.

Lifetime warranty, a top quality product to work with (pads, plates etc) out of the box... it's the exact same tool as the 7424 or 7336 (with a different counterweight).

Just an opinion... and it's been a while since I've regurgitated mine!
