Water Spots.......Dang!
Water Spots.......Dang!
Was away on vacation and had truck parked out in driveway. My son washed some bird crap off the hood but never wiped off the water. Needless to say sun baked the truck and now I have water spots all over the hood. Within the last month I applied NTX then 2 coats of Meg #26, thought I was protected. I washed the truck and put NTX on hood, took off some of the spots but not all. Guess I'll be claying the hood today and hopfully that will remove the remaining spots. If not, I'm gonna try Scratch-X as my next step. Any suggestions as to a less aggressive allturnative to Scratch-X? I would like to be as easy on the paint as I can.

Yeah-- Use a polish or a paint cleaner. For a product you can get at auto zone: try steps 1 and 2 of the DC system (from Megs), or go for #9 Swirl remover 2.0 (also from Megs)
After those, if you wanted to order something that you will use again (frequently, I might add), get some #80 and/or #82, and maybe even some #83. These are all from the Professional line of Meguiars, but they are excellent products.
Also-- do you have a D/A? If not, forget about the 80/82/83. Although they can work by hand, they dont work very well.
G'Luck!!!
