Grill Emblem Color Change

Just completed changing the color on my grill emblem to better suit the color of my truck. In other how-to articles I have read they mask off the area to be painted. Instead of masking and spray painting I painted the emblem by hand. I took my time and wiped off any stray paint marks immediately. I wanted a paint that dried fairly quick so I ended up using one of my wifes' ceramic paints. When it dried it was flat but after using the Envirotex it matched my truck color perfectly. As for using the Envirotex you don't need much to fill in the emblem, I found out the hard way when I kept having to wipe off the excess from when I poured it on initially. Overall I am very satisfied with the results. Still have to complete the tailgate emblem. Here are before and after pictures.

Update to Emblem Color Change

Completed the tailgate emblem today. I think the red looks much better than the blue. Only area I changed was not painting the thin red ring around the outside edge, I kept it chrome. I think it sets the inner part of the emblem off better, JMO though.

I have a Silver truck...How do you think it would look if I went to black ad chrome emblems? I really dont want to go silver and chrome, as that seems like it would be too...well...silvery... Any other color advice would be cool though.

Can this be done to the large tailgate oval on a 2005? I had RED custom painted and matched ovals on my 2002 Ranger EDGE and loved it. I wouldlove to have the same for my F150...
