trim a shield interesting product

I applied trim a shield to my truck 2 days ago. It looks great. You have to get the gr40 wax remover which is good even if you don't apply the shield part. The cleaner is a clear liquid and you just rub it on. It will lift off alot of gunk. I neutralized it with white vinegar then rinsed it off. Now comes the hard part. I bought the deep black top coat. You must tape everything off. This stuff has the consistency of black shoe polish. Loves to run. The directions say to use a sponge or terry cloth. I would go with the terry cloth for obvious reasons. Wear gloves. It dries quickly and you can put on a second coat in about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs. Just make sure all the wax is off or it will streak. It has been through 2 heavy rainstorms and has held up nicely so far. the manufacturer recommends twice a year. I do wonder though wit all the taping and mess maybe it would be better to just paint the plastic with fusion paint and forget about it.www.trimonex.com
I am anxious to see how it looks in 6 months I'll let yous guys knows. PS. It is a tad gloss but looks kinda like 303 only more permanent.

Nice post. I've seen this product once previously and didn't really know of anyone who had tried it. Good to know that you've had great results thusfar. Keep us posted on how well it holds up.

I did notice some light streaking today in the hot and humid sun. I don't know if it's operator error. (still a little wax left on). or nature of the curing process. I will try a small spot of 303 to further see any chemical reaction happens once it cures a bit longer. It is a little pricey and labor intensive so I expect allot. But to find something that really works is all trial and error I guess. I miss stainless and chrome so much. The salesman that sold me the truck said he had wanted to buy it also (uh huh) and that I was taking a little piece of him with me. Yea the plastic pieces.
