1st Detailing

Ok, weather permitting, I will be giving the ole F150 its first detailing. I went out and purchased the Mother's line since the Meguirs line was not readily available to me here locally.

Arsenal includes:
California Gold Scratch Remover
California Gold Clay Bar System
California Gold Pre-Wax Cleaner–Step 1
California Gold Sealer & Glaze–Step 2
California Gold Pure Carnauba Wax–Step 3

1st question is what order do I use these products. 2nd is that since I do not have a PC (need to get one) are there any tips or tricks that have will help ease the pain of doing all of this manually.

I have searched, but didnt find any answers that pertained to this line specifically.

TIA and any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help guys. The weather hasnt been cooperating today so the detail has been pushed to a later date. I did go out to take a closer look at my paint and noticed that I seem to have some concrete/cement on my paint. Any tips on removing this.

Also, is the Scratch Remover an entire vehicle thing or more of a spot thing.

Once again, TIA and any help is appreciated.

Some people do the entire vehicle but normally it's not needed. It's also a TON of work without a machine.

Finished

so i finished my first detailing. i will not do this again without a PC. it was such a PITA. glad i decided not to drink while i was doing it cause i would have just gotten frustrated and quit. anyways, pics are in my gallery if anyone cares to see.

After everything, i am preety satisfied with the result considering that this is the first time that I have done something like this, it's a black truck, and it was all done by hand.

For years I used the inexpensive Sears orbital waxer/polisher. It worked fine. I bought the Porter Cable because the majority on this site recommended it. I find very little difference between the Sears and the PC. With each I use the sponge rubber base with a terry cloth or microfiber (both the same) cover over the sponge rubber. Then I place a an approx 12X12 inch piece of terry cloth (like a wash cloth) between the microfiber and the vehicle paint. This allows the inserted wash cloth to absorb the dried wax/polish and be discarded and washed later when full of wax, and a fresh wash cloth inserted as needed. I finish off my last wax by a soft buff, then complete the buff by hand to eliminate the swirls.

I would expect arguments if I did not own both the Sears and PC, and have waxed my rigs for many years.
