Removing adhesive

My Leer 700 fiberglass lid had the local dealer emblem stuck on it. I have had the lid for approx. 3 months and Sunday decided to remove the small 3 inch oval emblem. It came off easily with fingernail, but the glue took alot of effort with goo-gone. Once I removed the adhesive it appears that my paint has some cloudy sploches. MY truck and lid is Red Fire. The blemished areas look somewhat greyish. With my hand I do not feel any layer above the paint, so all adhesive looks to be removed. I'll try to get a picture of it, but not sure if it'll show up. Any suggestions to brighten up or do you think it may be damaged? I put some Turtle Wax Ice detail spray over the area, but got nothing good out of it. Its one of those things that no one notices but me. I'm sure we all have those , but it is annoying the crap out of me. The goo gone wouldn't be that stong to pull out some paint would it?

I used a hair dryer and Goo-Gone. It took a little time but the adhesive finally came off. It was from where my window vents used to be.

Its possible that the Goo Gone could of messed up the clear coat. Next time, pick up a bottle of 3M Adhesive Remover.

Yeah, all of the adhesive that I had to remove was on the rubber at the top of the window.

You need to get an easer from your local body shop. You can use it on the end of a drill, it does a great job removing stuff like this. I paid $15.00 for my last one.

Or order one from here.

post a pic of the issue ..

what tools do you have to work with? Do you have a PC, or will any correction be done by hand?
