Wash/ Wax: 03 Mustang

I detailed my Mustang about a week ago. I forget the process exactly. But I think I used XMT 2 or 3, XMT 1, ClearKote Red Moose Machine Glaze, topped with Pinnacle Liquid Souveran.

So today I washed and waxed it, heres the process.
  • Cleaned wheel wells and exhaust tips with Amazing Roll Off
  • Cleaned rims with P21S wheel cleaner
  • Presoak with pressure washer foam gun and Gold Class
  • Wash with Gold Class
  • Dry with wet/ dry vac blower, Cobra Guzzler and DG 921
  • Tires dressed with CG dressing
  • Tips polished with Mothers
  • Topped with Pinnacle Souveran Spray Wax

The Souveran Spray Wax was awesome. It brought back the wetness and slickness. I also used it on the wheels and it gave them a GREAT shine, though it wont last long due to the heat. I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone. Ill be using it after every wash.

Presoak

Finished

Thanks. The car use to be set up for the strip, Corbeau seats, cams, nitrous, Welds, manifold, full suspension, etc. etc. But I put everything back to stock because I got tired of it.

The front rims are 17x9's with 275's, the rears are 17x10.5 with 315's.

That bodystyle Mustang grows on me more and more as time moves on!

I didn't care for them that much while they were being made, but I think it was mainly because the interior was so poorly laid out that I hated driving them. I had quite a few as rental cars, and nothing ever became intuitive for me in the lay-out of the dash no matter how long I drove them......

What's the deal with the foam gun? I keep reading about them, but I've never seen one. Can you just hook them up to any ole pressure washer? What do they run? ($$)

Your ride looks great!

A lot of pressure washers come with different degree heads as well as a 'Chemical' head for the sprayer. There is a little nipple on the pressure washer on the sprayer hose that you hook up a hose to and than the other end into a bucket full of soap. It works amazing.

Well there are two foam guns, and Ive got both of them haha. One connects to my pressure washer ($100), the other connects to the hose ($60, but I know where you can get it for $15). Ill try to get some pictures up tomorrow.

The camera is a Rebel XT. Those were taken with a ****ty lens. Ive got a Canon 100- 400L IS that I use for sports and wildlife shots.

Tell me more about the foam process. How long do you leave it on? Does it not "dry" before you was it off? Do you wash it off with the PW and then hand wash? What more does this do then just washing it by hand alone? More info please...

BTW, nice job.
