First off, I've never heard of a real detailer using NXT anything.
I dont want to get into an argument either. And Ill admit, Im no professional, but Im no amateur either. My work is VERY high quality, not some BS wash and wax. I also dont use BS over the counter products like a lot of guys I see. The only over the counter products I use are Meguiars NXT, Gold Class, Mothers clay, and metal polish. Everything else is Pinnacle, Wolfgang, DP, Poorboys, Duragloss, P21S, etc. Besides Meguiars stuff, my soap collection consists of Poorboys, DP, and Chemical Guys. Ive got over $100 worth of waxes.

So obviously Im wrong that NXT strips wax. I thought it was at least denting it because the car doesnt bead nearly as much after washing with it. But obviously thats wrong too, so Im learning.

You say youve never heard of a real detailer using NXT anything. Well I use it, but maybe you dont consider me a REAL detailer, which is fine, you dont know me haha, so I dont care. However, let me introduce you to a guy named Justin, http://www.blueridgeclean4u.com/index.html Id be willing to say that hes the best detailer in GA. He uses Meguiars NXT for customer cars. In fact, hes the one that introduced me to it. Go ahead and do a search for him on google, justin30513. Youll find him all over the place. Check out his work and maybe youll consider him a real detailer who uses NXT. Then you can say you know someone.

Not trying to be a smart *** here, I can admit when Im wrong.

Only since I moved away .. (just joking) there are several very good detailers in GA.

Remember .. quality of product only takes you so far .. knowledge and talent is the difference between the really great guys and gals, and the average Joe in their driveway .. A real pro can make a vehicle look great using almost any brand of chemicals ..

In the grand scheme of things, the amount of wax removed (or not) by the soap of choice is not an issue if you are doing any swirl removal or polishing .. that is what is going to remove the old stuff.

Yeah, you're right again. I believe I said this in another post, but soap aside, all the cars I do get clayed anyways. And obviously polished. I hope we didnt get started off on the wrong foot. Maybe youll consider me a real detailer one day haha. Ive got 1 more bottle of NXT to go through, then Ill put it aside. Im really looking forward to using the new Chemical Guys soap I just got.

Also, I would put myself into the same category as you did (based on the first paragraph), so Ihope that I didn't come across as being arrogant.

I also now "know" a "real" detailer that uses NXT stuff(thanks to the eGreeting you provited)...and I will be honest-- I use it occasionally on the wash and wax vehicle, but I don't have any plans on replentishing once it is gone.

Unfortunately we've started off on the wrong foot-- I hope this can be manded, as this site can always use educated minds and skilled detailers such as yourself. I look forward to hearing more as the threads keep coming. Your input really interests me since you aren't using only Meguiars, like most of us do. I am interested to see the kinds of results you're getting.

So, in summation: I apologize for my wrongs, and hope that this is all resolved. (BTW-- for wax stripping, the favorite around here seems to be regular Dawn-- NOT WITH BLEACH!!! I think most of us use it for customer cars. and talk about suds!!!)

Not a problem, I apologize also. Its behind us now.

The thing I dont like about Dawn is it turns the rotors yellow, and can cause the weather stripping to dry out because I believe of the alkaline in it if I remember correctly.

Poorboys Bug Squash. I love this stuff, but I only use it in areas that need it. Ive heard of people putting a little in the foam gun for presoak. I havent tried that yet. But that stuff is awesome along with the Pinnacle bug & tar pad.

I just used Chemical Guys soap in my pressure washer foam gun and it foamed like crazy! 10x more then Meg's NXT and 100x more then Megs GC.

I also heard that Chemical Guys makes Poorboys SSR polishes. So maybe they make their soap too? Either way, I think I found my new soap.

...and you have to try the Super Slick...

It's FANTASTIC stuff.

I tinkered with a sample of the BS... I found it to be okay but, it didn't really perform well with my water chemistry (which is damn near crunchy -- although, I am using the Spot Free 1000 system).

I have a sample of FK1's wash (I believe it's 1016). I'll let you guys know about it once I remember to try it -- I always pick up the Poorboy's SS and forget about that little green sample atop my shelf.

I had intentions on using on this weekend's detail but, Mother Nature won the battle and thus, we cancelled it.

My detailing weekends are numbered... my first child is due within the month.

I also use the soap from Chemical Guys. Man what a lot of suds that stuff makes.
