Water Spots on Windshield

How do you get the water spots off the windshield - the ones in the area where the wipers don't clear. I have tried Stoners and Windex but no luck. T

have you tried WD-40? Lime away may do the trick also

after you get them off put on some rain-X and the water will roll right off

Thanks for the ideas - I will start with the WD-40 (on hand). If that doesn't do the trick then Lime Away. I guess straight vinegar would do the trick also - any thoughts on that?

Hi Ken... there are several items that may work. I'd dodge the WD simply because of the problems involved with removing an oily product from a nearly non-porus substrate (the glass).

I would, however, try the vinegar.

If that doesn't work, snag some Easy Off 'BAM' bathroom cleaner. Apply it directly to a TOWEL (not directly to the windshield), and use EXTREME (did I mention EXTREME?) care to not get it on ANYTHING other than the glass.

This *will* remove the spots (similar to the Lime Away recomendation from an earlier post).

Follow with the Stoner's as it will not leave a streak free shine.

Enjoy.

I've tried everything to get water spots off for a while, nothing has worked for me till now...

I bought a can of "Rubbing Compound" from Pep Boys for $1.99...got rid of ALL waterspots.

Save your money and break out the vinegar. Doesn't have to be straight, though... I used about an inch in the bottom of a water glass, filled it the rest of the way with water, then swiped a sponge from the wife's sink and took it to the windshield.

Was coated with hard water crap so bad you could hardly see thru it when the sun hit it wrong. Coupla minutes with that diluted vinegar and it was *all* gone
