Polished Wheels to clearcoat or not?

I got hooked up on some Weld Cheyenne 6 polished wheels and I've confirmed with Weld that they aren't clear coated....since they are new would it make sense to clearcoat them before they are installed?

I guess you could... Depending on cost, I would. Polished aluminum is (and I quote from somebody...) "not necessarily in the past tense. You polish every freaking week"

And it's true. If you don't mind breaking out the metal polish every week or 2, don't mess with it. But you'll probably save $$$ in the long run by clearing them. Good idea, man. Just make sure you give them a really good cleaning/polish before hand...I wouldn't drive on them if at all possible until they're ready...

I had a set of solid Centerlines back in the day that were raw with a machined finish that weren't horrible but I've had 1 set of raw polished wheels also.... I learned my lesson on that set.
