How about this...
How about this...
I'm going to detail my truck this weekend. After reading every post about detailing (sometimes twice), I just want some feedback on what I plan on using. Not going with anything extravagant, just what I already had. Truck isn't in that bad of shape, maybe a few swirls, no big scratches to worry about, it really needs to be clayed though. Doing this all by hand. This is what I have to use...
1. Wash (Deep Crystal Car Wash)
2. Clay (Mothers Clay Bar)
3. ColorX
4. Meguiars Cleaner Wax
Here are some pics.

For my daily drivers I have been using a regimen that includes the Meguiar's Cleaner Wax. While I like the "cleaning" effect of the product (especially on a vehicle that spends a fair amount of time outside) I am less than thrilled with the durability of the product.
As such, what I have gone to doing is using the Cleaner Wax every third application for the qualities it provides, but doing the intermediate waxes with NXT. What I end up with is one wax regimen that cleans the surface of the paint but lacks durability, and two wax regimens that don't really clean the paint all that much but provide pretty good durability. I usually wax every 6-8 weeks on average.
FWIW -- I originally tried adding a coat of NXT over the Cleaner Wax, but found that it doesn't really "stick"......
This routine provides a reasonable balance between the look I want, and the amount of work I'm willing to put into a "daily driver" vehicle.

Following the ColorX with the cleaner wax won't get you much, if anything.. ColorX is designed as a last step product (LSP).
you would get some benefit out of topping it with a pure carnuaba with a little extra protection, but the cleaner wax won't gain you much, if anything at all, and in my experience, ColorX and meg's cleaner wax are pretty close, durability wise.
if you want to pick up some more product to add to what you have, let us know ..
nice color selection on the truck, btw

So I should probably buy a good wax to top it off with. The only reason I have the cleaner wax is because it came in a Meguiars Gift set I received.
Would I be able to tell a difference with these three just by looking at it.
Deep Crystal Carnauba, NXT or Gold Class liquid.
