Mmmm.... Shiney

My new to me 2004 F150 is the newest and best vehicle I've ever bought. I've has this truck for 2 weeks now so figured it was about time to get some wax on it since I have no idea what has been done to it at all from the previous owner.

I cheeped out for now and just got some wash and wax. I picked up some microfiber towels and some Simple Green Car Wash. I wanted a good wax to use without paying through the nose for NXT so went with Mac's #26.

After reading through this forum for the last few weeks I think in a couple of months I will be getting more products and adding in more steps but she is looking pretty good even just doing the basics.

There are some small amounts of swirl marks that I will need to get out in the future but for now and for my first time ever really looking after a vehicle I am very happy with the results.

I started at 7am in the shade on a part of my lawn. It took four hours to:
Rinse
Two bucket method wash
Blot dry
Apply #26 one panel at a time
Detail the inside
Detail the glass and mirrors
Neutral Armour All the tires
Detail the rims

I think I'll apply a second coat next weekend after a wash. There was a noticeable difference after I waxed it. I don't know if #26 is supposed to take out some swirl marks but it did a good job of covering up some minor swirls and scratches. Black is a handful to keep up but I think it's worth it.

#26 is a pure wax. That said and like other pure waxes, they absoultely DO NOT deal with any swirling.

The truck looks good! Read THIS THREAD for a tidbit of information about swirl removal and such.
