Idiocy Fix
Idiocy Fix
Howdy y'all whats new and exciting? Yesterday I whent off-roadin' and well took my friends advice a little too willingly as I was backing up into a camping spot to chill. Needless to say as I was backing up and to the left my Right 1/4 pannel took on two little flexible trees which seemed to like to eat my paint, and one of them even put a dent in the 1/4 pannel. I have graduation in two weeks and that is the next time my parents will see it, is there any cheap alternative way (besides being like "Look MA' I'm an IDIOT") that will get this fixed? Thanks for all your help!

We'd have to see the scratches to diagnose...
As for the dent, get a quote from your local paintless dent repair shop. If the metal wasn't stretched out, they can likely remove it to the point that it wasn't there. Those guys work voodoo on little dents and dings... most are pretty fairly priced as well -- versus that of a body shop.

O.K. Thanks RP...I will get some pics of it up tonight, as long as I can get to a computer. I have a feeling the metal is stretched (it was one of those THUMP...then still reversing ones) so I dunno...Where can I find one of these paintless repair shops? Thanks again!!

And that's why I don't go offroading
.
Sorry to hear about your run in with the trees (almost ha done myself in my own front yard yesterday), but listen to what RP tells you, he's the man around here when it comes to detailing tricks.

The paintless dent removal folks might be in your phone book. If not, call around to a few body shops until you find one that does it. Also, some of the 'detailing shops' in your area may be able to provide some guidance and even some help on locating a PDR guy.
I've told this story a few times so, those of you who have read this, sit tight...
My dad had a baseball hit him square on the roof of his 03' F-150. Left a hefty ding... the PDR guys got it out with the exception of one VERY small spot where the metal had actually stretched because of the impact of the baseball. Being that it was on the roof, it was fine -- even I would've been okay with it.
Those guys can work some magic... you keep your factory paint and no longer have a ding. It's a win/win in my eyes.
