Here is a link to the exact one that I picked up at Wal Mart: http://factoronegarage.easystorecrea...ter-detail.htm
I bought one of these and am totally disappointed in the results. Used it to wipe off some pollen that had accumulated onto my truck a day after a good wash/detail. It seemed to push the pollen around moreso than to pick it up. It just sits in my garage now.

That is bizarre because mine picks up everything. It was used daily when the pollen was going nuts here. I did have to go over a few places more than once but that's because of how the fiber lifts the dust/pollen. The pollen seemed to be extremely clingy when it was left to accumulate heavily.

I've got a California duster as well but it streaks if the finish is hot because of the wax in the strands. I haven't used it at all since I bought the microfiber.

For day to day dusting I love the one that I have.

Yeah I have one of those as well, but won't use it on the black truck because of the streaks it leaves behind. I had no problems using it on my old harvest gold sport trac or my wife's red car though.

I swear by the California duster, and even with the black I've never had a problem with scratches.

I'm curious, though, what do you guys think of MG's Quick Detailer? I use it to help with water spots from a light rain, and just for an overall quick touch-up, but I haven't seen it mentioned here so I'm wondering if I should be avoiding it???

Personal opinion but, I really like Meg's QD.

Meg's Last Touch, on the other hand, isn't that great of a product in my opinion... pretty lousy actually.

Good to hear - just spent two weekends getting the swirl marks from the previoius owner out of the damn thing. I was going to be PISSED if I was inadvertently trashing the thing all over again.

Thanks for the life saver...

I live on a rock road, and i am completely ocd when it come to my truck. I drive my old truck everyday and if my new truck gets out it is a really big occasion. When i do get it out and drive it down my road (1/8 of a mile) it gets coved with dust to where its almost white. Is there anything i can do to prevent the dust. Is there a quick detailer that you guys would suggest. thanks guys for the inputs.

FK1's Poly Slick #425 claims to have some anti-static properties....

Based on my use, I can't really tell much of a difference. I absolutely LOVE the product but, not because of the anti-static -- which doesn't seem to exist much...

Unfortunately, under your circumstances, you're kind of out of luck. Further, I'd recommend *NOT* using QD to remove the gravel dust but rather a stream of water.

I'd use the QD spray while drying the truck.

I remember qadsan being pretty animate about Duragloss being an anti-dust, anti-static, product. I don't quite remember the logistics but maybe qadsan or RockPick can chime in with more. I guess if you use it dust wont stick.

The Duragloss Fast Clean and Shine (DG FCS) is a decent quick detailer. It leaves behind more gloss and slickness in addition to having some good anti-static properties that really do work pretty well, but within reason. For instance, we live in an equestrian community with horse trails throughout our neighbor hoods and we have horses, stables, etc, on our property. At our house, there's plenty of dust in the air every single day, especially when lunging horses. Since using DG FCS after washing our own vehicles that stay outside 24 X 7, I’ve noticed that our vehicles definitely stay looking cleaner for longer periods of time. It’s not going to be a magic shield that repels everything for a vehicle driven down a dirt road day after day, but it ‘might’ make a noticeable and positive difference in some applications.

qadsan -- compared to #425, how would it rank in your book? Also, any harm or foul in putting it over a carnauba or other LSP other than DG?

I haven't used FK425 for a while, but from what I recall, it's very similar in gloss and slickness. There's no harm or foul using it over any nuba (S100, #16, #26, Souveran, etc). My current favorite q/d mix I've been using for a while now after washing is 70% FCS and 30% Aquawax (boosts protection, increases gloss and slickness). My current favorite test q/d I'm playing with right now is a new product from CG that's still not released. It's probably more of a waterless wash than a q/d, but it can be used either way to an extent. It emulsifies surface contaminants pretty well and greatly minimizes the potential for scratching when wiped off. It contains two different types of clays (for polishing action when wiping off), but supposedly it can be shot through a 'fine' mist sprayer (I've been testing it with a regular sprayer). It also works in the sun to a good extent from my experiences. Mark from CG's has told me it will remove LSP, but Paul has told me it will Not remove LSP. I haven't done much testing yet to see if LSP is compromised, but it's definitely a kool product that you'll soon be hearing about.

Thanks for that info qad... much appreciated. I've been watching several folks rattle about the product and thought I'd quiz you to get your feel. I appreciate it.
