Help Removing water mark below sideview mirror

I have a drip mark (water) in the paint on the exterior of my truck on the drivers side door, right below the side view mirror. It goes almost all the way down to the body side molding. This is on a black truck.

It looks as like this was from when the truck would sit in the rain and the water would drip off of it.

Can anyone recommend a product to remove the mark? It almost has seemed to dull the paint. It is about 15" long and about 1/2" wide.

Thanks for the help.

I'll recommend something if you'll shorten your signature... GEEESH!

Seroiusly... what you've got is the result of hard water. The spotting going down the side is a result of the minerals in your water being deposited as the drips came down.

Removal shouldn't be too hellish but, we have to keep in mind you're rolling in a BLACK vehicle... this amplifies one VERY important element to paint care -- that being COMMON SENSE. Black will, as you already know, show EVERYTHING so, as such, we need to be careful.

My suggestion is two fold --

1st -- Clay. Odds are that the mineral deposits are sitting ON TOP of the paint and likely have not etched in -- well, at least I hope so. Clay will remove a lot of this type of problem but, will not totally correct the problem

2nd -- Scratch-X. Per the directions on the back of the tube, utilize Meguiar's Scratch X and complete the removal.

If you have questions -- as I know that was kind of a brief run down -- please ask. Also, be reminded that both CLAY and SCRATCH X have been discussed in GREAT detail here at f150online.com and thus, I'd encourage you to search here on the site for additional information.
