2007 black paint maintenance

I'm the new owner of a black 2007 F150 fx4 Screw... bought it back in november and haven't done a full detail yet. This is my second black vehicle so i am familiar how ****ty the paint can look if neglected. I'm going to spend a few hours tomorrow going through a detail and just wanted to get a few opinions on my products.

#1) Meguiars deep crystal wash
#2) Meguiars deep crystal polish
#3) Meguiars NXT tech wax (2 coats)

it's new paint and i dont really think it needs claybar or scratchX. Also, I will be doing this all by hand as i dont have an orbital.

What do you guys think??? also what should i use to apply/buff to minimize scratches/swirles??

Use the 2-bucket wash method and get a leaf blower to dry with. .

Almost guaranteed that your 'new paint' needs to be clayed. Give it a whirl... Your paint should feel like GLASS... not 'rough' glass. It'll take you an extra 20 mins... I think it's a worthy step for proper optical characteristics and such.

Otherwise, you're not doing too poorly on your choices.

Microfiber (good microfiber) is your friend. Common sense, however, should be your BEST friend. I say that to the tune of making sure you're doing things that PREVENT the carrying of contamination over the other areas of your paint and thus causing problems.

Search - two bucket method
Search - blot drying

Search - Wax Removal
Search - waffle weave microfiber
Search - Alpine microfiber (DF Towel)
Search - Clay

Enjoy.
