nasty spots

nasty spots

i was wanting to know if any of yall know how to remove iron from well water off of my truck. it has these iron water spots all over the rear of the truck from when i had it parked at a friends house for a weekend and didnt notice them really till i washed it this past weekend. Can anyone help me on the subject?

After you wash, try claying it. If that doesn't work, try a good paint cleaner (ie: step 1 of the famous Meg.s 3 step system) or a cleaner wax.

Try those first, as one or both should work. (BTW--do they feel etched, where your fingernail catches on them???)

You may or may not be able to remove them. You will certainly be able to lessen their appearance.

If, like f150sport03 mentioned, the paint is etched, try to note if it's a mineral build up on TOP of the paint or if it's 'in to' the paint. This is important as it can make the removal of your problem spots simplistic or a PITA...

Not texture...

Can you feel them? Are they ABOVE or below the clearcoat's surface?
