welcome to the forums, #1, and #2 I'm sure if you do a search you'll find hundreds of topics that cover this. however, the long and the short of it:

1. Drying - some use a leaf blower or shop vac blower on their trucks to get water out of the cracks and crevices etc... After that, use a waffle weave micro-fiber drying towel to blot dry the remaining water.
2. Waxing - I use micro-fiber applicators. I also use MF towels for removal.

As far as products for your metal/chrome parts, I really don't know because I have the painted bumpers etc...

Tires - personal pref - meguiars hot tire shine
Interior panels etc.. - again personal pref - megs QD interior spray
Polish - Megs #7
Wax - Megs NXT and Megs #26
Glass - Stoners Invisible Glass - spray bottle

There are so many products you can use the possibilities are endless. Do a search though and you'll find pretty much every topic covered.

I use a leaf blower to dry with--black paint. It's faster and leaves no spots. It's even faster if you have some help, one washing one drying.

Then I use the Clay Magic kit from from Auto Zone. After that, I don't wax per-say, but use Megs #20 paint sealer on everything, including the chrome. I find that just about any chrome polish/cleaner works well--whatever is on sale.

Stoner's makes a good product. I just use vinegar and water with some old balled up newspaper works really well for water spots on the glass--polish to shine with a microfiber towel.

Obviously the more you wash the more time you'll need to spend reapplying paint protection. I love the California dust brush in-between washings.

Anyway, I'm one of these guys that doesn't like to spend 2 days detailing but also want my truck looking good. I use the KISS method. Keep it simple stupid. More time for this and fishin'

I too use a leaf blower to get the water out of the crevices and such. Then I finish it off with a Meguiar's Water Magnet towel. Works great.
