Unhappy Problems with body repair

about 3 weeks ago my truck of allmost 7 years was broken in to. I have the supercab with the little side windows. The passenger side window got pryed and blew out they didnt steal anything but I have a problem. I took very good care of my truck, not one ding or scratch honestly in it. Took it to the body shop they said they would take care of it. Today a week later I went to pick it up still has scratches in the paint not even touched by the repair guys and a ding in the door that I know wasn't there prior to the accendent, I left the truck there, was in no way going to pay my deductable for things not fixed, all that was done was the area between the window and frame was fixed and new window and door handle, the rest was not even repaired by them, Can any one tell me what am I up against? Or will I just have to live with this?? It is noticible

If the vehicle was scratched by the thieves then it should be covered by your insurance. I would contact the adjustor and have him meet you at the body shop so he can see in person what you're talking about

well that is another problem, the adjuster told me " why dont you just get a window in it " that was his exact words he wanted me to leave it out at my house whille I was at work for him to look at it I dont want it sitting out all day, so I brought it to the body shop and he met with the shop, I went there a few days later went over it with the shop and they said everythign woudl be good, the scratches I can rubb out and take care of but the DING. and them thinking its ok Im just not to happy

Did you take it to a Dealer or Independent? If a Dealer, show it to the Bodyshop Manager and tell him you expect the scratches to be polished out and a PDR guy to get the ding out at no cost to you as the ding occured while in the Bodyshop's care (you dont want to be painting in the middle of a 7 year old truck). If he wont help, go to the Service Manager (BS Mgrs Boss). If he wont help, the last guy to talk to would be the General Manager (Svc Mgrs Boss). If it is an Independent, then you'll have to call your Insurance Company in to "Reinspect" and write up a Supplement if the scratches were not noted on the original estimate. What was paid to be done on the Original Estimate? The Insurance Company should have given you a copy or mailed you one. The Insurance Co. will also have pics of your truck in its damaged condition, which shouldnt show the ding thus proving it happened while in the Bodyshop. Bodyshops will usually do whatever the Insurance Company tells them to do because they value the Insurance Company's business more than yours....Hope it works out for you, Good Luck!
