What to do between coats of wax???
This may be a dumb question, but what step(s) should I take between applying coats of wax when I have to let my Expy sit outside overnight while waiting to apply that 2nd or 3rd coat of wax? As long as the weather holds for this weekend I plan on doing the following:
Wash (2bucket)
Clay
Wash again (2 bucket)
Meguiar's 80 or #9 (for removing/covering the spider webs - haven't decided which to go with yet - leaning towards the 80 - suggestions???)
NXT
NXT
#26
From the numerous posts I've looked at, I need to allow about 8hrs or so between the two coats of NXT, and about the same time to follow up with the 26. This, unfortunately, means that the Expy will have to sit outside overnight and collect dew, dust and whatever else floats thru the air. What should I do the next day before continuing with the wax/polish? Should I use a QD product or just wipe off any contaminates with a MF towel? And I should mention that I'm dealing with black paint to.

I'd use a good QD (ie: Final Inspection, any Mothers or A-line (meg's) QD that's not NXT, etc... A good microfiber will suit better than a crappy one. As for the polish, if you're looking to utilize a filler product, go with #9. Other than that, #80 would be better at actually removing them (if I remember correctly), but I prefer #82. It's much easier to work with and produces great results. G'luck.
I have used the same process that you are planning on doing, but have completed it all in a day. It is my understaning that the two coats of NXT are used to make sure that you have complete coverage on your vehicle, and can be done one right after the other.
I have topped the NXT with a coat of #26 and the last time I waxed, I just did the NXT because it was too cold for the #26 to cure and not smudge/smear while trying to get it off. The #26 adds another layer of protection, but it dulls down the shine so that you vehicle does not have the 'saran wrap' look.
