Cleaning the top of the cab

I'm having a bit of trouble reaching the top of the cab on my Screw when washing and waxing (washing is not so bad, as I can use a wash brush, waxing is a nightmare). Any recommendations as to how to SAFELY do this?

I suggest not using a brush, and what I do is just climb in the bed and do the work to the roof if your arms are long enough... I have only an extended cab though, and am 6 ft.

The brush that I'm using is a soft head, and not the one at the car wash.

Yep... Same here. 2-Step Rubbermaid -- I think it was less than $20 at Wally World... we use it ALL the time around the house. It's a tremendous helper...

Also, I wouldn't recommend the brush either... unless you're using a Montana Boar's Hair brush (at a cost of around $70 each). That's just a suggestion...

this is what I use . I find ti works very well, and it seems more stable than my rubbermaid stool ..

I modified mine a little. I glued pipe insulation on both edges, to prevent accidental damage to a vehicle, and I added non slip strips to the top, althought I think that is probably overkill.

i usually climb into the bed of the truck and then step up onto the edge in the middle right before window. i have the extended cab and i am 6 foot so i can reach the almost all of the top. When i have gotten all that i can reach, i just stand on my step bar and get the rest or open a door and stand on the little sill plate thing.

or i dont get lazy and use the above methods...i just get a ladder

I'm lucky I have long arms, and running boards, I stand in the bed to get about 3/4 of the roof, then stand on the running boards and do the front portion of the roof that I was unable to reach from the bed. Thats for washing and waxing.

I either open my doors and stand on the door sill, or climb in the bed and stand on my toolbox.

Just about the same thing I use and I love it. The one I have has a nice plastic tray on it. It is a bit more money but it comes in real handy. You can get one at Target. http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...sin=B0002M9M1Y

I like that one also .. but the problem for me is it is only rated for 225 lbs, so I don't trust it to hold my old, fat butt ..

Griots Garage sells that one for about $100 .. that is a good price at Target ..
