Vinyl Trim Help

I decided to clean the truck today as we finally got a good day. It cleaned up nice but here's my problem. The black trim around the windows, etc looks like chit! I looked closely and not only is it starting to turn white in spots but it looks like it's also drying out. I've never used anything like armorall (which I know is bad) and only occasionaly use vinylex which might be part of my problem.

That being said can anyone recommend soemthing that will help correct this or atleast keep it from getting worse. I've heard people talk about 303 and Meguires vinyl conditioner, any input on these?

Thanks

Do a forum search on exterior trim or back to black etc...

There are several products that have been recommended, however the one I use is Mothers Back to Black. Some have had problems with it and some have not. I have not. I like it pretty well other than the fact that it is a little runny so if you use it, apply thin.

Megs has an exterior product as well but I don't know if anyone has used it.

Good luck.

This is going to sound a little off but here it goes. Oxidation is what is making your rubber trim look like crap. I used a MR. Clean magic eraser to clean all the rubber trim. Wet it just a bit and scrub away. The eraser will be black when finished. Then follow up with a protectant of your choice and it will look new. I used this method on my 97 Expedition with 197,000 on it and the trim was like new. This will also remove any wax that you might have accidentally got on it also. This also works well on your bed rails and bumper valance.
