Scotchguad
I'd ask what process the carpet guys would use to apply it. If their going to use some type of pressure application then it may provide a slightly better protection level...(??)
Otherwise I'd just head to Wally World and get yourself some aerosol cans of the Scotchguard (TM) product and have at it. Just make sure you apply it evenly and maybe even twice to make sure you dindn't miss any spots. Last time I looked it was about $6.50/can at Wally World/MegaLoMart.
I did the carpets on my first boat and it worked just fine!

Do it yourself man. I don't think any professional treatments are going to be much better than what you can buy and do yourself. Do 2 coats to ensure even coverage. It will stink like holy hell for a day or so, but after that it will smell new again. I go my Scotchguard at Lowe's. Pretty sure it was a red can.
I would do it myslef. Go to Sprawlmart and buy several cans. You will save yourself abunch of money, and I do not think the guys at a carpet place would do much better. I agree with the others---several coats---let the interior air out, as it will stink---but you will save $$ and get the same type of job.

Approxiamtely how many cans does it take supposing I only have a single cab with NO carpet on the floor (I have the rubber floors--LOVE 'em...easy cleanup)
Also, I've seen 2 colors of Scotchguard cans out there--and haven't really looked too closely at the cans--is there a difference? Also, Once it's applied, do you have to reapply every so often? If so, how often?
And finally, Once I spray, how long do I have to wait before I can drive again? Hours? Minutes? Days?
Thanks in advance.

I am not sure which can to get---go to the Sprawlmart and see which one is recommended for cart/truck interiors. I do reapply mine once a year. It does tend to wear out or diminish in strendgth over the course of about a year. Just read the instructions, do what they say, and you will be good to go.

Yes, you have to reapply it. I'd say at least once a year. Maybe every 6 months depending on how often your truck is used (daily driver?) and how often you clean stains off the seats. It's a red can for upholstery. Don't get the blue can.
I'd say start with 3-4 cans. Start at one side and work your way over to the other. Let it dry for a little while and do it again. It should be dry in a couple of hours. I don't know exactly how long. I sprayed mine and went and did something else, when I came back in a couple of hours it was dry. It was middle of summer though.

Awesome. Thanks, man. (If you could still rte posts, yours would have gotten a helpful mark)
I really appriciate the help (as I don't want to ruin anything).
BTW-- your truck looks freaking cool. I want one. (I've always loved a silver F-150...mine is, too)
