Exterior Plastic
Exterior Plastic
I have an 05 F-150 STX on which the exterior plasic is beginning to show signs of fading. This is primarily on the bed-caps, door handles and pockets, and mirrors. I've looked at several different products out there, but I don't know which one to go with. Does anyone have any real-world uses of particular products that have worked/haven't worked?
Thanks,

Every single one of them will run on the paint to a certain extent... I've found NONE (303, Vinylex, Meg's #40 etc...etc...etc...) that are perfect.
That being said, utilize a nice water-based protectant like the aforementioned products and be sure to get the excess off of the handle to minimize running.
This is definitely one of the places where I wish Ford would've put paint rather than plastic.

I like using Meguiars #39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner on my plastic trim that is really dirty or for areas that may have some wax residue in the textured plastic. Afterwards I use Meguiars Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner for protection and looks. If the plastic is not too bad, I skip the #39 and use the #40 only.

Stoner's trim shine. After using it on several vehicles I've quit trying to find something better. Makes the trim look like new. Spray it on and wipe it off after a few minutes. Works well under the hood also. Bill
