Stupid lovebugs

Here's the deal, I go to school in Orlando and I drove home to West Palm the other weekend (190 miles one way). Unfortunately, it was the dead of lovebug season and my truck just got creamed. I managed to clean them all off the paint, but I haven't had time to tackle the windshield yet. I can hardly see out of the darn thing because of all the splats, and I can't see if there's a glare. Is there any method or product that I can use to make cleaning it a little easier?
Thanks in advance.

I bought a cleaner from Orielys to do my windows and it worked good. Just can't remember the brand. It comes in a black bottle( not rain X) just get the claner not the gel. The gel did not work at all (suppose to be like rain x). The cleaner did work good though. When I get home I see what the name of it is.

I just used some elbow grease and water followed up with a good glass cleaner.

If you can use a rough towel on your window, I would.

What about Stoner's glass cleaner. It says it removes bugs.

By the way I used Stoner's for the first time last night and could not believe how well this stuff works. Driving to work this morning I could not tell I had a front windshield.

I'm just opposed to using harsh chemicals on my car.

I use a Bounce dryer sheet. Make that a new, unused dryer sheet. Wet it down and rub on the bugs. After a few minutes of sitting on the bug guts, it wipes off with little elbow power. I have been using it for almost a year and have noticed little problems. I do put a coat of wax on the front end every wash as well.

Thanks a lot guys, I've got a killer schedule this semester so I don't have too much time to run around and find out what works. As always, this site is a lifesaver

Isn't that a part of airborne training?

Get some Meg's Speed Detailer man, that's what I use and it works everytime.

Just spray on and let it soak in for about 5 minutes and then spray off with a high pressure hose....use a microfiber towel to wipe as you spray with the hose.

It hasn't failed me yet.

Love bugs are brutal. I keep a good layer of Rain-X on the windshield at all time and just scrub them off.

I live not too far from Lake Jessup and I refuse to go over the SR 417 bridge this time of year.

I love your screen name. What are you studying at UCF?

I graduated in '94 in Civil Engineering.

it may be a little harsh, but better than losing paint to the bugs.

My major is medical laboratory sciences, and with two extra classes I can have a minor in molecular and microbiology. I figure if my degree has enough words on it people will think I'm a genius
