How to clean the honeycomb grilles?

Hey guys, for those who still have your factory honeycomb grilles.....for me this is one of the toughest things I find to get really clean after I wash my truck.

How and what are you guys using to clean your honeycomb grilles?

I use to use a long bristle soft brush. I replaced the grill with a Harley grill much easier to clean.

I use a "foam on a stick". It is basically a foam tipped wooden stick. I use that to get into the grill and clean it really good with a trim and plastic cleaner and then protect it with 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I have a wheel brush that fits in between each 'honeycomb' . . it kind of takes a while but it gets the job done. Granted I only do it when its needed.

Yep -- while I really like the look of the black honeycomb grilles, they are a major PIA to clean and keep looking good.....

I have used some Tire Foam last time and that seem to help alot, but I have some Meg's Trim Detailer and I think I am going to try that next.

i took mine off, washed it with dawn and water my hand, and then painted it, and stuff doesnt stick to it as much now...

Plus it looks better, I When I had my stock grill wrapped 2 fingers in a wash rag and went threw all 216 holes....I cleaned it every time I cleaned my truck But I can honestly say my billet grill is alot more matience, with only one quarter inch of space between the bars its quite difficult to get clean, but the outside much easier than the honeycombs

Use caution with this one... as it's just a theory...
Try engine degreaser... but DO NOT ALLOW ON PAINT!!!

or try a pressure washer


What's making it get so bad? Bugs? (Granted, I have the grill with 2 horizontal and 2 vertical pieces, so cleaning for me is really a no brainer, so sorry I couldn't come up with any innovative ideas.)
