Question Wheel Brush?

What kind of brush is everyone using on their stock wheels to remove brake dust etc.? I have been using a thick nap cotton towel, but am wanting something a little softer.

I bought a Meguiars brush w/ a removable and reversible long handle from a place called Big Lots, $4.50, works great on my stock wheels. It has pretty soft bristles that don't scratch, yet takes brake dust off very easily.

I use a simple round spone on a handle that is used for washing tall drinking glasses. It works great and gets in the smallest openings because it is a sponge.

I get what I can with a regular wash mitt, and then hit the inside areas with a wheel brush like this...

They're usually a couple bucks at the store, and last me a few months.

This is the Versa-Angle Wheel Face Brush... in my opinion, this is one of the brushes that Meguiar's got right (not many of them are in my opinion).

I'll typically get the majority of the 'grunge' off of the wheel with this brush and then do the interior of the wheel with a smaller sponge that is specific to my wheels (it doesn't get used elsewhere). This sponge is an older bug sponge that I'm able to work between spokes.

Thanks RP,

That is the same one I have, it works great. My local Big Lots has a ton of Meguiars overstock. You may wish to look there if there's one in your area.

Yeah... I've checked them out. It's ashame that some of the products are there but, by the same token, it's a good thing that some of them are there in my opinion. Some 'brush' line products weren't worth the materials that they made them with... others, like the wheel face brush, weren't bad. All of them were overpriced.

There's a lot of good brush manufacturers out there... Meguiar's didn't really choose them to make their accessory line. Chinese labor is cheaper.

ADS has a little better deal on them...... Be sure to check your local shops to avoid shipping though...

Do the Meguiar's wash brushes fall into this category, like the wide body brush? If so which brushes would you recommend?

They are definitely of 'foreign' construction. The wheel face brush, the slide lock brush, and the interior brush aren't bad. (I like the interior brush quite a bit actually). I was given several of the others and have since let them find their way into circular #13.

They still have them at Big lots, picked up a spare today and a couple others RP recommended.

I think it was $3.99
