Hand Glaze

Where does glaze have its place with polishing and waxing? What purpose does it serve? I generally use cleaner wax, poliish, and NXT.

Glazes are typically used as as prep before waxing. They have no protective qualities but provide a deep and heavy mirror gloss. Follow up with a carnuba wax after to provide paint protection.

Thats kinda what I figured. I bought some Meguiars Hand Glaze and was somewhat pleased with the results. Unfortunately my orbital buffer got destroied so I had to do it all by hand. Maybe when I get my new buffer, the results will be better. I topped off the glaze with two thin coats of NXT and it came out pretty nice. I think that I am going to start using some type of Carnuba topper such as Megiuars #26.

Just like Zax mentioned, it's a 'pure polish' with no abrasives and such.. it's just there to offer depth and clarity. I'm not a huge fan of Hand Polish personally -- I find it to be a bit 'smeary' and often leaves shadows but, some love it.
