Pressure Washing

Two questions,

Is pressure washing your truck bad for your paint?

And

What is the lubricant you use with clay bars i keep reading about?

Thanks,

Derek

Bad for your paint... not sure why it would be.

Obviously, with higher pressures, you have to be aware of any paint chips, flecks, or any other problems of that nature in that you can easily amplify the problem with pressure. Additionally, decals, pinstripes, and other 'stick ons' don't play well with high pressure sometimes...

I assume that you're just using the water to 'spray it down' and then you hand wash?

As for clay lubricant, there are oodles of options...

Meguiar's #00 Hi-Tech Wash can be one... Poorboy's Spray and Wipe can be one... Meguiar's Quik Detailer can be one... just about any type of 'spray detailing spray' can work...

I do think you need to be real careful about how close you get to the paint surface. My neighbor took some of the finish right off of his new Silverado with a pressure washer. He was pretty pissed.
