Yeah be careful with that Westley's that's good stuff but you want to rinse it off right away and don't use more of it than you have to. And don't smear it all over the black walls either as it's possible to leave white smears all over the place if you just scrub in circles.--DIY

Is there a secret to using Westley's that I don't know about?

I used this stuff last night and I am still not satisfied with the product on how it cleaned the white letters on my tires.

I mean the directions say to spray on and wait a few minutes and then wipe off....well how long do I have wait?

I am think about using some SOS pads or some Comet.

Thanks.

Nylon-bristled brush and some water...

Be sure to spray down the truck BEFORE using this product. I don't concur at all with letting it sit on the tire as it will run (thanks to good ole' gravity) and *will* end up on your rims.

This stuff is ultra-harsh ... Simple green and a nylon bristled brush works fantastically well...and is *MUCH* safer.

Ok thanks RP. I highly respect your opinions bro.

I am going to throw this stuff away. I don't want to take chances on this stuff ruining anything on my rims.

I respect what RP is saying as well, but I have not had a problem with Westleys and have used it for about 40 years. I just spray it on, and use a pressure washer to wash it off. I have the clear coated wheels on my truck and that makes a diference too. I will be buying new tires soon, and can not wait to have a blackwall. I hate those raised white letters!

I have used Westley's in the past with good results. I just put on new skins and put the RWL inside because I got tired of the extra cleaning step and I actually like the look better.

I haven't had a problem with westley's, but I still use the Simple green just as my own insurance policy. All I have to say about the RWL's, though, is that they look great but are a PIA to maintain.

I use Armour All All-Purpose cleaner. I clean both my tires and my wheels with it. Just spray it on and wipe it off. It always works great for me. Plus it only costs $5.00 per bottle at WallyWorld.

Well I bought some Simple Green. I haven't tried it out yet, but will sometime this week.

Also the salesman at Advance Auto recommended something call "Purple Power". Said he used it all the time.

Well I turned the bottle around and read the instructions and the very last thing it is says NOT to use on is "WHEEL RIMS". Yep.

So I left the stuff alone.
