Man I need to clay my truck so bad. I mean it is in horrible shape for a new truck. The hood feels like 80 grit sand paper when you run your hand over it. Problem is this. This morning I put nerf bars on my truck. I started at 7:30 it was already 97o. By 9 when I was done it was 102o. As bad as my truck is it will take me 4 hours to clay the thing and I can't get it into the garage. I know I can't do it in the bright sun, hell the surface of the paint would be 130 degrees. I am thinking I will have to start just before sundown, and finish up with lights after dark. At least the surface of the truck will only be around 95 to 100 then. Oh well maybe I will sweat some of this fat off!

Not really recommended when the surface is hot to the touch... the clay will become too pliable and won't be able to do the job as well. Additionally, you'll have trouble with the clay 'smearing' across the surface rather than abrading the stuck on crud. Just a FYI!

Good point. Well maybe I am looking at waiting until October. I will just keep it as clean as I can until then. I need to intstall a new garage door, then I will be able to get the truck in under a roof. But a new garage door equals less add ons for my new truck this summer!
