Michekin Brake Dust Repellent

Has anyone used Michelin Brake Dust Repellent? The only thing I am worried about is overspray onto the tires as the repellent is made with propane/isobutane. Your thoughts?

I just used it for the first time today. I will update in a week or so.

I've never tried it...

Some one here did a review on it about a year ago... the results were poor to my recollection.

Might try a search for Michelin Brake Dust...

Definitely let us know what you think.... being that it's a solvent-based propellant type of product, I think it'd be detrimental to any protective layer (ie: wax) that may be on your wheels. Plus, I'd speculate that long term use of the product could be bad for any wheel -- be it clear coated or polished.

Doesn't Work.

Or at least didn't work for me at all. Same amount of Dust after Day One and it looked as if some kind of sheen where on the wheel.
However steps 1 and 2 of the 3 step Michelin Tire Care Package are excellent.

Steps One and Two are a Tire and Wheel Cleaner combo. The tire cleaner I loved because it left a very natural look to the tire which I love as it looks new rather than slathered in Silicon.

I hope your results on the Brake dust repellent are better than mine.

After a week, the brake dust is definitely less than normal. Not sure if it's worth the $5 bottle; I guess you do get quite a few applications of it. I'll probably use it all up and reassess.

It also didn't seem to push the brake dust onto the tires/white lettering. I noticed that for some reason the lettering is still pretty white.

Initially, it worked well enough to keep using. We'll see if it continues to be enough to buy more of it.

I've used it a couple of times now since my Eagle 102 rims are driving me nuts with the breakdust. It may not repel dust, but it does keep it from baking on the rims and most of it sprays right off now with water. Also helps I replaced my brake pads with EBC 6000s, dust is way down from the PF Carbon Metallics. I wish someone made a miracle protectant for uncoated aluminium wheels, as I'm about to go nuts trying to keep these things clean.
