I leave mine down but un latched ready to open. Engine is a very hard area for me to clean. Still haven't quite gotten that one figured out.

I cleaned mine today it really looks good but don't like the looks of the grill up in the air.

I raise mine at car shows due to all the billet accessories under the hood.

As I have a Supercharger (and they are quite rare over here) most people want to see under the hood so it goes up and down all day at a show.
It's all stock under there but clean.

All stock (and clean), including a s/c - blimey!

Bet a big truck over there can be intimidating to all those Mini-Coopers. THAT'S what that little bump you felt was.

Is your truck r/h or l/h drive?

It's still LHD. Over here that's ok but if you take one to Australia, you have to convert it to RHD.
Driving an LHD truck/car over here has never bothered me apart from when I used to do an 8 week trip to the States, come home, then drive my car down the "wrong" side of the road for over here

I like to keep it clean under the hood too for my viewing public

Cleaning under the hood safely:

(Wait until the engine is cool)
Either:
A: damp shop rags
or
B: Engine degreaser CAREFULLY and shop rags
or (If you want to risk messing up all sorts of electronics, etc.):
C: Power Steamer or water hose (BOTH RISKY)
