Question on Chrome Emblems
Question on Chrome Emblems
I just bought a Mark LT and used acetone to remove the black paint on the left and right side badges so they look all chrome now. It's a shame people are taking advantage of people on EBAY by selling these all chrome emblems as if the stock emblems are not all chrome.

It took me about 20 minutes to remeove the black paint and look exactly like those pictured on EBAY.
My question is, I tried to remove the black paint in the small, center emblem on the grill and on the tailgate, however the paint doesn't seem to come off. Does anyone know if these are chrome underneath just like the side emblems or if these are different as it appears. Thanks in advanve for taking your time to post.

This is probably a better question for the LT forum... as such, I'm going to leave this one here and copy this thread into the LT forum...

Logos
I'm not familiar w/the logos on the LT but if they are like the ones on the F150, there's a rubber/plastic coating over top of the paint and it has to come off first. You can boil it or use a heat gun if you don't want to take the logo off the truck. Once the coating has started to soften enough to take it off (you'll know when), it comes off pretty easily and then you can get to the paint underneath.
