How to remove overspray?
I searched first but did not find an answer for this.
I have some light overspray on the right side of my truck. It looks to be white paint. It starts at the hood and goes back to the bed. Its not real bad. Could this be removed with my rotary buffer and some polishing compound, or would I need something totally different?

I searched the forums, and all that was ever talked about was clay. My question was can I use a rotary buffer and some polish? I'll use clay if I have to, but I have the buffer and polish.

Ok, it looks like a clay bar is the recommended choice here. So my next question would be can I use it to just take the overspray off and NOT do the whole truck? I am planning on buffing it in about a month or so when it warms up.

Will clay work ... yes. It's much safer and much easier IMO.

This stuff in my opinion shouldn't have to be a sticky when all you have to do is a 10 second search on here and find all your answerers

Hey Shore! Unfortunately, we typically don't 'sticky' too many threads as we want the forum to stay free and clear... aka: easy to use. It's our experience that a plethora of sticky threads at the top of a forum tend to detract from the overall information stuffed within...
A 'summary' thread might not be a bad idea though... Hmm...
Thanks man! If I'm ever up that way, I'll give you a yell...

Just putting that out there... if someone wants to give it a 'go', have at it. I'd just be ULTRA-CAREFUL with it.

I'm member of another board with way too many stickies, I agree!
on another note, I also had a huge problem when my truck was oversprayed by the apt complex maint crew. It took lots of time with a nice clay bar. You really dont need the heavy stuff as you can do more damage if youre not familiar with the tecnique. The light weight clay will work fine.
