Removing Bug Guard Bumpers

I'm changing out my front bug guard, and the new bug guard isn't as tall as my old one. So I need to remove the old backer rubber bumpers that are now too high, and install new ones. How do I remove those old peel 'n' stick bumpers without scratching my paint?

I'm not real familar with what you're talking about but, a good rule of thumb for removing stuff with an adhesive backing on it is to utilize a heat gun and SLOWLY peel them off.

As always though, this is a do at your own risk type of scenario although, I'm not sure I've heard of anyone mentioning any problems by trying it this way.... BEST OF LUCK!

Next time try attaching the clear rubber bumpers to the bugshield instead of the paint. The ones that came with mine look like clear rubber grommet type bumpers just use the alchol swab to clean off a couple places on the bug shield and then put it on the truck, then see where u need to put the bumpers for max protection and yr done

Excellent idea, attaching the bumpers to the guard itself. I'll do that this time around. Wish someone had told the Ford dealer about it when they installed my first bug guard.....

I'll try the heat trick to get these off. But it seems they already would have come off on their own in this hot Florida sun!

Thanks, you two. I appreciate the advice.
