Water pressure at carwash

Anyone have a ball park number of how much pressure is used at those coin operated car washes? I'm sure it varys alot, just wondering if anyone knows. Looking for a safe pressure to use should I buy one,

Thanks!

I'd be very careful when using a gasoline powered pressure washer. You could wind up blasting the paint right off the truck...

Even the smaller models sold in home improvements store would be overkill. Of course, you could always wash your truck from the other side of the street! That might be pretty safe...

That's exactly my concern. I'm thinking of a small electric one. Lowes has a 1400 psi for $100. Everyone says to get a gas one, but I only want it for washing the vehicles and camper, maybe the house. Also like the portability and ability to use the electric one inside. The water pressure at my house is terrible, but also don't need overkill

Car wash pumps are usually in the 800 to 1000 lb area. I have a 2600 gas powered and there are nozzles that would be safe to use on a car. There is one I use to strip the paint on my deck for refinishing that will cut wood if you get it close enough.

pressure washing is fine... BUT when using it on the vehicle I highly, HIGHLY reccommend you only use it as a rinse and not to actually remove dirt or contaminents. Also use the lowest powered nozzle and keep it at least 3 feet away.
Unless it's a somewhat unharmable surface like the winshield, bed or under carriage I wouldn't try to do anything with a pressure washer other than rinsing.

I know the presure has to be pretty high as I get a little water in the cab of my truck through the rear slider just like it did in my old 2000 truck seems like FORD would have fixed the problem on the new trucks guess not
