Too many variables to really say 'this is what I'll do'. Every vehicle's finish is unique and the steps that any detailer will take will vary depending on the condition.

I know that's not a 'good answer' but, overall, it's tough to really say 'this is the prescription and it'll work for everything...'. Ya know?

I guess, in general, there are some of the same steps over and over...

1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Oxidation removal
4. Polish for swirl / scratch removal
5. Polish for depth
6. Protect (wax or syn)

That's about as general and specific as I can be though... like I said (and I think any other detailer that visits here will agree), every vehicle is unique.

What does step 5 include? I thought it was wax but you have that listed in step 6.

thanks

Something like a 'pure' polish. AKA: no abrasives.

My preference here, on certain colors, is Meguiar's #7.

I like that color. I think the NXT really makes it look more silver, don't you?

Looks good CSK... put a carnauba topper on it and the metallic fleck will bounce out of the paint... plus you'll get additional depth and, in my opinion, clarity.

But, if you like 'gloss', NXT is a great choice...

Experiment around...

That was me just quoting IRISHFX4 with the picture. Mine looks very similar since we have the same paint and I just waxed my truck with NXT this sunday. Actually when I waxed the truck with the NXT I noticed much more color from the metalic fleck. I was pretty impressed with the different colors that were reflecting off. Made it feel like a job well done.

Whoops... Sorry about that!

Try doing your hood with a carnauba topper... I think you'll be impressed; especially in the sun. The fleck will stand up and dance for you.

Hard call on that... different people like different looks...

One vehicle that I almost always think of when someone starts talking about Oxford White is MaxTorque02's Navi. Check out this thread...
