3M Protective Film

For off-roading people are worried about scratching there vehicle's paint and glass with tree branches and mud. Wouldnt 3M protective film on your truck prevent any scratching?

The 3M material will still scuff and scratch. It's designed to help prevent rock chips but, mind you, it's not 100% effective.

yes, but even if the 3M material gets scuffed and scratched, at least your paint isn't.

Agreed on that note...

I still think it might be more of a hastle though...

So, let's say you want to 'clean up' the truck and remove scuffs and scratches... you either have to figure out if the 3M stuff can be polished via abrasive techniques or remove and replace the 3M. Seems like a load of work... but, then again, maybe I'm missing the point on the whole thing...

I just don't see an advantage. *shrugs*

i think people who use the 3M plan to have the truck clean, shiny and chip free when the sell it. Others like to keep it clean and shiny while they have it.
After all who cares what it looks like when someone else owns it.

I too agree that it's too much "hassle". It's not like that stuff goes on and comes off like saran wrap. If you're that worried about scratching the truck, then it's time to hit some wider trails or ones with less brush to scratch up the truck.
